Robin Randall who has been an instructor in many subjects at Musicians Institute for 13 years is also a well-established songwriter. She has written numerous hit songs including "Tomorrow Doesn't Matter Tonight" from the 1986 double-platinum Starship album "Knee Deep In The Hoopla" and "The Last Time" which was produced by Peter Cetera for ABBA's Agnetha Faltskog, her highest charting solo single to date.
"The Last Time" was Agnetha's first Euro single on the 1988 solo album and won double-platinum in Scandinavia.
She also wrote "Someday You'll Come Running" a single release on the CBS records "F.M. / U.K." Album, also cut by solo artist, Mark Free. In fact, the Mark Free debut solo album released in 1993 on "Now & Then" records consisted of eleven songs all of co-written by Robin Randall.
Since 1989 Robin has written regularly for one of the world's most popular TV series, "Baywatch" including the songs "Bless A Brand New Angel" and "If I Could Touch You One More Time". They both have been constantly requested by fans and is about star David Hasselhoff tragically losing the love of his life. "Bless A Brand New Angel" which aired in winter of 1997, was a memorial song for character Stephanie, with enough requests to prompt Hal Leonard Publishing to release the sheet Music. David Hasselhoff sang this song at Princess Diana's Memorial Concert.
When Robin was writing for "Baywatch" she had only little time to write a song. A lot of these songs were written in one or two days.
She also wrote a song for the Fox T.V. "Baywatch Hawaiian Wedding" film in 2003.
She also enjoyed nationwide recognition from Down Under for certified gold single, "Where Are You Now", recorded by Aussie rockers "Roxus". "Where Are You Now" hit #1 in Australia in 1991.
She also has a song, "High Life" featured in the ABC-TV Movie, "The Amy Fisher Story". During her Euro Tour as musical director and keyboardist in support of the "Long Way From Love" Mark Free solo album, Robin and vocalist Diana DeWitt formed the pop/rock "Venus & Mars" female duo.
Their debut album "Grand Trine" was released in 1994 and in 1998 they released "New Moon Rising" on Avex Trax Records Japan (one of this biggest record companies in Japan), which became a great success.
In 2003, a former song from "Baywatch" called "Forever Friends" was used as the theme song for "The Brothers Garcia" movie on Nickelodeon Channel.
Robin is currently writing music cues for NBC reality show, "Starting Over." And she recently had a song cut by Howard Hewitt (Shalamar) and Denise Williams.
